Profile. (taken from ESP interview - Summer 2004)
Mr Bang-e aka Tony Weaver has been DJing for around 14 years. He was first drawn into the dance music scene around the late 80s listening to the sounds of 808 State, Kevin Saunderson and early Warp recordings. It was a sound that he had been looking for, having never previously been interested in dance music. It was only a matter of time before his friends became interested in the same sounds and started heading out to find the parties playing this music.

During the early 90s, Bang-e became a regular on the hardcore scene, attending raves by Raindance and Telepathy before finding his favourite weekly night out at Elevation on Shaftsbury avenue. It was hearing the likes of Jumping Jack Frost and Bassline Smith at Elevation that inspired and convinced Bang-e to learn how to DJ. At this time, Bang-e was in the Army and bought a set of cheap belt driven turntables and a mixer for his room and proceeded to terrorise his fellow soldiers with clashing breaks. After 6 months, Bang-e felt he had reached the required standard to let other people hear him and offered to play at a small party in Colchester. It was here that he hooked up with new friends who rated his ability and invited him to play at Elevation after parties and other small scale events around the UK.

From that start, many paid and unpaid bookings followed playing at places like The Warehouse Doncaster, Rooftop Gardens Wakefield, UK Midlands, Q Club Birmingham, as well as many other venues and radio stations across the UK and Europe. Most bookings / requests to play came from people who heard him at one place and wanted him to play at another. Always in it for the music, Bang-e is happy playing anywhere, be it at large clubs in front of strangers or small illegal woods parties for friends. Whether there are 20 or 2000 people in attendance, he always shows and does his thing.

Thursday September 29, Sektor [ Melt, Future Research ], Adi-J & Squee

This week we bring you Sektor, a storming dj talent in the Dutch Liquid DnB scene! This year he started to throw parties in Leiden together with Syze and John-F forming the Melt crew, as well as he joined the Future Research crew who are responsible for regular parties in Amsterdam and Haarlem. His style can be described as deep, melodic, emotional and powerfull as he easily switches between intelligent/atmospheric, liquid funk and the ‘deeper’ styles of d&b, not afraid of dropping an occasional rough stormer.
So... watch out for his set, since he will rock the place for sure!

The second hour we'll just do what we feel like at that moment... its probably a mixture of Adi-J & Squee with the usual dosage of heavy tunes
